Dr Annie Theriault is the Chief Investment Officer of Grand Challenges Canada, and the Managing Partner of Cross-Border Impact Ventures, a new impact investment firm partnered with Grand Challenges Canada to launch a health technology venture capital fund focused on women’s, children’s and adolescents’ health. Prior to these roles, Annie spent most of her career investing in private companies as a venture capitalist and lender across multiple sectors and stages, including several impact investments. She is also one of the Global Health Steering Committee members for Proximie.

Gustavo Cumbo-Nacheli, is a board-certified interventional pulmonologist working with the Spectrum Health Medical Group in western Michigan. A leading innovator in the field of bronchoscopy, he is an early adopter and advocate of robotic-assisted bronchoscopy. In February 2021 he became the first to use Proximie alongside a robotic assisted bronchoscopy platform in order to stream a bronchoscopy procedure.


Mr Amyn Haji was appointed as a Consultant in Colorectal and Laparoscopic Surgery at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in 2011. He is an expert in minimally invasive surgery and natural orifice surgery, and in 2019 helped develop the Pentax Forward program, giving promising clinicians new to the field of endoscopic therapeutic procedures the chance to work one-to-one with experts in Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection (ESD).
